Most London South Bank University Masters courses are structured such that you can choose to complete the award to Certificate level, Diploma level or full Masters level depending on how many credits you accumulate. You can also choose to upgrade a Certificate or Diploma to a higher award at a later date. Courses are available on a full-time and/or part-time basis. Normally you gain 20 credits per module and 60 credits for the final written dissertation or project.
The academic year is divided in to two semesters (normally September to January and February to May). Full-time students normally take three units (60 credits) per semester, and part-time students normally take one or two units (20 or 40 credits) per semester. The deadline for submitting the dissertation is in December of the year that the taught units are completed. Some programmes are also available for a January start date. The total duration for a Masters course is normally 16 months full-time and 26 months part-time, and the timetable is as follows;
