Brian Ardy

Brian was educated at Cardiff, Leicester and Reading Universities. Before coming to South Bank Brian lectured at various universities including Thames Valley, Reading, Leicester and Birkbeck College. As a specialist on the European Union Brian has wide experience as a consultant in Central and Eastern Europe having worked on EU and Westminster Foundation for Democracy projects in Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland. He is currently advising the Government of Croatia on their EU membership application on an UK DFID funded project.

Brian"s main research interests include the European Employment Strategy, EMU and the EU Budget. He has worked on various externally funded projects including an ESRC project on "National Adaptations to EMU", EU funded research on "EMU and Cohesion" and an Anglo German Foundation project on "Germany and the UK and the European Employment Strategy".

Brian is review editor of the JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies. He has acted as a referee for the following journals- JCMS, Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of European Integration, Transnational Corporations and International Affairs. He has also acted as a referee for the ESRC and the UN Development Programme.
