Lectures & Seminars

This popular lecture and seminar programme addresses key business issues of the day. All events take place at 5pm unless otherwise stated.

The programme is open to all academic staff, postgraduate students, alumni and invited external institutions and the local business community. The programme takes place in the London Road Building of LSBU (nearest tube- Elephant and Castle, Bakerloo line exit).

SEMESTER TWO, 2015-2016

The lectures, which will take place in L245 , include the following speakers:

On Wednesday,24th February at 6pm Simon Osborne Director of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators will discuss’ Evaluating the Board of Directors of your Company (and why it matters)’.

On Tuesday, 15th March at 5pm Professor Rachel Cragg from the Open University on the ‘Future of Higher Education in the light of the development of open on-line learning’

On Tuesday 26th April Richard Bach at 5pm, Assistant Director, Cyber Security, HM Government on the ‘Management of Cyber Security in Business Context’.

In addition please note that in a Faculty Event on Wednesday 24th February Sir Jon Cunliffe, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England will be a visiting speaker. This will take place at 6pm in the Events Theatre in the Keyworth Building

The seminars organized are as follows

On 9th February at 5pm in L252, Richard Croucher’s re-arranged session on ‘Publishing in Academic Journals’ will take place

On 16th February at 5pm in L120 Dr Ling Xiao of LSBU will present a paper on ‘Volatility Spillovers and the time-varying conditional correlation between the European and US stock markets’

On 1st March at 5pm in L120 Dr Chiara Benassi from Roehampton University of London will discuss ‘None standard work across occupations:- the Precariat’.
